Sorry to advise that my Dad passed away on Tuesday 10th May 2016

I am very sad to advise that my Dad - William J Veitch - who was only 90 passed away very peacefully on Tuesday 10th May 2016 after having been in the ERI some time. A very good man who lived life to the fullest and will be sorely missed.
An extremely brief synopsis ...
Born at 1:45pm on the 21st March 1926 and brought up by Christina Harkes / Veitch who was previously married to Robert Veitch who was a baker and who died 10/10/1921.
Dad went to Boroughmuir High School in Edinburgh. Conscripted and sent to Ceylon (Sri-Lanka) returned and got a job at Surtax office in Surbiton. Met Jean 64 years ago married 55 years ago on 26/8/1961.
I was born in 1964 and Susan followed in 1967. Meantime Mum and Dad had moved to Glasgow - Bellshill - Cumbernauld Road and dads career was on the rise - 1968 moved to Edinburgh.
Foreign holidays - starting with Yugoslavia then camping in France.
Purchased and renovated cottage at Yarrowford - near Selkirk - windows - made by Dad - actually so many great woodwork projects which will be around for a long time onward as a great reminder.
Dad helped me renovate my property in Hinckley and especially memorable was the more recent 2012 garage door renovation in Falkirk.
Yarrowford sold and this later enabled Currie to be renovated and then there is the plan for Cobweb cottage next door - model - and on TV - dad is a star.
50th Wedding anniversary at Crief Hydro.
Mum and Dad went on Cruise to Australia and Dad also travelled to India, Egypt, Iran etc
Dad sent to Spain for his 85th Birthday! - he never did divulge the cost of the emergency taxi from Granada to Malaga!
Dad frequently going to shareholder meetings and other lectures etc by bus - always enquiring and asking questions - full of ideas and plans...
Today 16th May was dad's funeral and It was better attended than expected and I and Susan gave short talks. It was very nice that family, neighbours and dads former work colleagues attended.
